Movie Quote
RAY:  Did you think I was gonna cut you, honey?  I wouldn't hurt you for anything in the world, you know that.

FANTASIA:  I'm glad you didn't kill that man in the car lot.

RAY:  What do you think we are?

Plot
Billy Bob plays the vicious drug dealer, Ray Malcolm, whose brutal murder of several people during a buy gone bad sets off a chain of events that leads to a cross-country pursuit of Ray, his psychotic, but together partner in crime Pluto (Michael Beach), and his girlfriend Fantasia (Cynda Williams) from Los Angeles to Star City, Arkansas. The L.A. homicide detectives tailing Ray hook up with the rube sheriff of Star City (a big city cop wannabe played to heartbreaking perfection by Bill Paxton) as they close in on their quarry, but the ties between past and present citizens of Star City run deep and dark--resulting in horrific consequences.

What Billy Bob Gets To Do
Ray is the scariest feller ever to sport a ponytail outside of samurai cinema. ONE FALSE MOVE is proof positive that he can play heavies every bit as mean and memorable as those created by Richard Widmark, Dennis Hopper, and Morgan Freeman.  He's cold-blooded.  He's sexy.  But when Ray loses his temper, he's terrifying.

Backstory
ONE FALSE MOVE is the acclaimed thriller that put Billy Bob on the map as an actor and screenwriter (screenplay was co-written by partner Tom Epperson). Helmed by the brilliant Carl Franklin (DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS), the cast includes such Billy Bob regulars as Bill Paxton, Natalie Canerday, Earl Billings, the ultra-talented Cynda Williams, Jim Metzger, and Michael Beach. The drug murders scene is not for the squeamish.  The ne plus ultra of Billy Bob Thornton movies, this indie gem must not be missed.  The late, great critic Gene Siskel voted this his favorite film of 1992.

By the way, here's Billy Bob's tattoo of the Blue Fantasia flower, which inspired the name of Cynda Williams' character.
