Plot
In the world of men, there are alpha males (like Jesse Ventura, James Bond, Rambo, and the Rock) and beta males (like Hugh Grant, Data, Jimmy Stewart). Poor Roger (Jon Heder) is a total omega male--finishing dead last in everything from his job as a parking meter reader to making time with women to being dumped by yet another kid who thinks he's too wimpy to be his Big Brother. Madly in love with his next door neighor (played by Jacinda Barrett of THE REAL WORLD and POSEIDON) and desperate to get a little respect in this world, Roger signs up for a Learning Annex course taught by the mysterious Dr. P. Over the course of the next few weeks, Dr. P. teaches Roger and his hopelessly wussified classmates how to go for the testosterone gusto. Field trips include a take-no-prisoners paint ball game, and handy tips include 101 ways to lie to women. Roger works up just enough confidence to get the girl of his dreams to go out with him. Suddenly, Dr. P.'s competitive edge kicks in, and he begins to woo Roger's sweetheart just to prove that he's still Number One. Let the games begin!

What Billy Bob Gets To Do
Billy Bob gets to wear one of those professorial jackets with patches on the elbows and be the only person who can tell the sexually omnivorous strongman Lesher (played by Oscar® nominee Michael Clarke Duncan, also from ARMAGEDDON) what to do. He gets to pour on the charm with Jacinda Barrett, get beat up badly during a tennis match, and add more than a few layers to his character through a series of convincing lies. He also gets the shock of his life. Clear!

Backstory

Todd Phillips quit the runaway international hit BORAT halfway through production and took up SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS to flex more of the comic muscles he showed at the helm of ROAD TRIP, OLD SCHOOL, and STARSKY & HUTCH. Billy Bob was already a fan of Jon Heder's thanks to a little Christmas gift of the NAPOLEON DYNAMITE video two Christmases ago from webmistresses Amélie and Sage. The cast also includes the wonderful Sarah Silverman, Michael Clarke Duncan, Horatio Sanz, the ever-reliable Luis Guzman, and a guffaw-inducing cameo by Ben Stiller. The camaraderie amongst the men who take Dr. P.'s class is pretty damned funny (witness the guy who passes himself of as Moby to score with chicks). Michael Clarke Duncan proves what a great sport--and stunning blonde--he is as Dr. P.'s aide-de-camp Lesher. Supposedly, Duncan fined Billy Bob any time he showed up late for a shot.
