Plot
Catdog wonders what it would be like to have parents after watching the other kids bring their parents to the Back to School Fair.  Armed with next-to-no information, other than the fact that Catdog appeared in the wake of a tornado, the half-dog/half-cat combination critter goes on an epic quest to find Mom and Step-Dad, who (spoiler) turn out to be, respectively, a bigfoot like creature (voiced by MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE's Jane Krakowski) and a frog with a Brooklyn accent (voiced by Billy Bob).  

What Billy Bob Gets To Do
Billy Bob also gives voice to Hound Dog McDog, the head of a clan of hillbilly hounds and gets to sing an amusing number titled Parents.

Backstory
Co-writer Steven Banks describes this episode (also released as a separate "movie") as the most difficult episode ever to produce in terms of its complexity.  It was, at one point, called THE GREAT FOSTER PARENT MYSTERY.  Billy Bob hopped aboard because his sons liked the show so much.
